I believe healing ourselves is the way we begin to heal our planet. Reiki is one of many beautiful ways to incite and support the healing process. 🤍

According to Oxford dictionary, Reiki is, “a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being.”
“Rei” and “ki” are Japanese words meaning “universal” and “life energy.” The Chinese call this energy “chi.” I’ve come to understand Reiki energy as the animating energy everything is brought to life by. It’s the energy coursing through the veins of Trees and humans and animals and insects, moving us to grow and evolve and experience life in this physical realm. It’s the energy that causes your lungs to breathe and your heart to beat without you telling them to.
Energy needs to remain in a flowing state or it becomes stagnant, toxic and ultimately dangerous. Like boulders in a river, stress builds up in our bodies and inhibits the flow of life energy running through us.
The more stress that sticks, the heavier your spirit will feel. In other words, if negative energy tries to pass through your body and gets stuck because you didn’t allow yourself to feel all the way through the stressful event, those frequencies will manifest physically in the form of tumors, ulcers, lesions, weight gain, etc.
Chakras are the energetic centers of the body. These areas are extra active and super sensitive because of the clusters of nerve endings found in their centers along the spine.
Your “flow” in different energetic areas affects how things are actually “flowing” in your body. In addition to being central nervous system channels, the chakras also correspond with endocrine glands which feed important hormones into the bloodstream. Activating them allows these hormones to travel to cells in all parts of the body, improving mood, metabolism, digestion, reproduction, and more.
Keeping the chakras clean and clear is so important. The state of our energies determines the state of EVERYTHING! This is why I believe Reiki should be a daily practice for all— a sort of “spiritual hygiene” to keep our energies clean and our rivers running smoothly.
Luckily, you don’t need to be a Reiki Master to receive the benefits of Reiki. Reiki is the energy you can feel anytime you slow down and quiet yourself enough to connect with your truest nature. This energy is available to all, always. It is the love, compassion, intelligence and creativity woven into the fabric of our very being.
If you want to experience Reiki, the first step is to train yourself to slow down. Spend some quiet time with yourself. Breathe and connect. Hold yourself. Think loving thoughts about yourself. Feel your feelings. Remain present with yourself without judgment. Just breathe and be.

- Put your hands together in front of your heart center. 🙏🏽
- Close your eyes, breathe, and ask loving energy to flow freely through you for the purpose of healing and wholeness.
- Put your hands wherever you feel the need for healing and hold them there until you feel it’s time to move them.
- Allow your entire body to expand as you inhale, imagining bright white and gold light pouring in through your crown and swirling around every cell of your body, sending love and healing and wholeness to every part.
- Repeat a simple mantra such as “I am” or “ohm” if that helps.
- Breathe deeply. Feel your body expand. Do not judge or label any thoughts or sensations that arise. Simply allow them to move through you like waves of color.
- Return hands to heart center and give thanks.
